J.T.’s 2015 NFL FORECAST

J.T. Sounds OFF

— J.T. Sounds OFF September 7, 2015

WOW!  That was quite the roller coaster offseason.  So much talk of deflated Footballs that I forgot who threw away  Super Bowl XLIX back in January.  Supposedly a trip to Maui is all it takes to put that heartbreaking defeat permanently to rest.  That remains to be seen.  One thing for certain though, I’m willing to bet that the Seahawks weren’t breaking down tape from SB XLIX on their flight.

With any new season, comes a handful of Buzzing Storylines or unanswered questions.  The 2015 season is no different.

Buzzing AFC Storylines … Can new head coach of the Buffalo Bills Rex Ryan put an end to the NFL’s longest playoff drought of 14 years? … If things start out slow for the Cincinnati Bengals (Raiders, Chargers, Ravens (2x) Chiefs and Seahawks before Week 7 Bye), will Marvin Lewis still be the man in charge in Cincy? … Is 39-year-old Peyton Manning equipped physically to sustain another (long) trek at a Championship? … Is the addition of Ndamukong Suh good enough for Miami to dethrone the mighty Patriots from atop the AFC East? … Do the Indianapolis Colts possess enough (Luck on) Defense in order to make it to San Francisco in February?

Buzzing NFC Storylines …  The calendar says that the 2016 Super Bowl belongs to the N.Y. Giants (Champs in 2008 and 2012), but are the G-Men too far back in the rear view mirror of division foes Dallas and Philadelphia in order to keep the winning a Super Bowl every four years tradition alive? …  With second year Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater blossoming under offensive coordinator Norv Turner a year ago as a rookie and the return of all-pro running back Adrian Peterson, are the Vikings a legitimate sleeper in the NFC? … Will anyone in the NFC South division finish the regular season above .500 (2014; Panthers 7-8-1, Saints 7-9, Falcons 6-10, Buccaneers 2-14)? … Over the past four seasons, Aaron Rodgers has thrown 139 TDs to 25 INTs.  Which begs the question, does the loss of just one starter (WR, Jordy Nelson) derail the Packs dreams of a second Super Bowl for Mr. Rodgers? … Is 2015 the year that Jeff Fisher puts an end to the St. Louis Rams 11 consecutive season of .500 or worse record to rest?

Before we jump aboard the roller coaster that is a new NFL season for answers to those questions and more, here’s a look at how I see the 2015 season playing out.  Worth noting; I had zero assistance from the New England Patriots with video surveillance or individual spying in obtaining these thought out predictions.

Drum roll please …..
